Adding members without emailing back and forth
Behind every company there are people, and those people have access, bookings and requests. In Doory you manage them as members: a register of people per company, with an invitation flow, an access status and communication preferences per person.
The classic problem: the list of names
Today, a new employee at a tenant usually means an email to the building manager, who issues a key, adds a name to a list and perhaps creates an account in the booking tool. When someone leaves, the manager rarely hears about it in time. The result is a key list with people on it who stopped working there six months ago.
How it works in Doory
The company's contact person invites their colleagues themselves, or you do it. The invited person receives an email, creates their account and then appears in that company's register. For each member you see the status: invited, active, or no longer has access.
Everything else hangs off that status. An active member can book meeting rooms, reserve flex desks, submit requests, request services and sign up for events. If the building has a lock integration, access is set up automatically on activation and revoked again on departure. You do not have to think about the keys separately.
Communication preferences are set per person. One person wants push notifications in the app, another only email. For a mass mailing or an outage notice, Doory uses that preference.
What it means when people join and leave
Leaving is where it really matters. When you set a member to inactive, everything goes in one go: portal, app, access to the building and future bookings. That is one action instead of four, and it is recorded in the audit log, so you can see later when it happened and who did it.
Joining works the same way. Someone who starts today can book and get in today, without you having to chase a key.
What you set up yourself
How much you leave to the tenant. You can give each company's contact person the right to add and remove members themselves, or keep that with your own team. In a building with forty small tenants you will want the former. In a building with strict access requirements, perhaps not.
Keep the bill in mind: members determine part of the price, €1.50 per member per month. Clearing out inactive members also clears out costs.
