Every booking straight into the calendar

Glass meeting room with a long table

A booking that isn't in someone's calendar gets forgotten. That is why Doory sends an .ics invitation with every booking, so the reservation ends up in the member's own calendar. Guests without an account receive that invitation too.

The gap between booking and remembering

Most booking systems send a confirmation email. That email gets read and sinks down the inbox. On the day itself there is nothing in the calendar, so someone forgets or arrives late. And external participants only know what the organiser has forwarded to them, with the risk that the address or room name is missing.

What the invitation contains

Date and time, the room, the building and the address, and the practical instructions you have set per building: where to report, which floor the room is on, and whether visitor registration is required. The invitation lands in Outlook, Google Calendar or Apple Calendar, because .ics works in all three.

If you move the booking to another room, or cancel it, an update follows. The member's calendar appointment changes with it instead of staying put.

Why guests notice this most

In a meeting with external guests, the organiser is currently the go-between. They forward the confirmation, or copy the details into their own invitation. If they don't do that properly, a guest ends up standing in your lobby not knowing who to ask for. With an invitation that also goes to guests, they have the same information as the organiser.

Combine it with visitor registration and the loop is closed: the guest is registered, reception sees them in the day view, and the host is notified on arrival.

What it saves you

Fewer calls to the front desk about where someone needs to be, and fewer rooms standing empty because a booking was forgotten. It is a small feature with a direct effect on no-show figures.

What it isn't

This is not a two-way calendar integration. Doory sends the invitation, but does not read your calendar and does not create bookings based on appointments you put in Outlook. If you want to reserve a room, you do that in Doory or in the app.
