Taking figures into your own file

Sometimes you just want a file. For your accountant, for the owner, or to work out something yourself that doesn't fit in a standard report. Doory exports to Excel, including the credits overview as .xlsx.

Why exporting isn't an admission of weakness

Plenty of systems want to keep everything inside the system. In practice, accountants, owners and advisers work in Excel, and they won't give it up. A system that can't deliver a usable file means someone will retype figures from a screen. That is exactly the manual work you wanted to get rid of.

What an export is useful for

Reporting to the owner. An overview of occupancy and revenue per unit, in the format the owner works with.

The conversation about credits. The credits overview per company, with usage and overage. In a renewal conversation, that is a file you can send along.

Your own calculations. Working through a scenario, for example what happens to your revenue if you change your meeting room rates. That doesn't belong in management software, it belongs in a spreadsheet.

Checking during the switch. In the first months after switching, you want to be able to compare with your old files. An export makes that possible without working in two systems.

Why you shouldn't use it as your administration

An export is a snapshot. As soon as you save it, it falls behind the system. If you start making invoices or updating occupancy based on that file, you're back at the problem you bought Doory for. Use the export to calculate, report and check, not to keep your administration.

What you still need

For recurring reports, it helps to decide in advance which overview goes to whom and by when. Otherwise exporting itself becomes the new monthly chore.
